Bharati Vidyapeeth’s
Institute of Management Studies and Research (BVIMSR), Mumbai was
established in 1984. The aim of the institute is to be at the pinnacle of
management education by equipping students with the necessary skill sets to
excel in the industry, and by grooming them to adapt to the challenges of
corporate India. The objective of the institute is to contribute the
intellectual awakening and social transformation taking place in the
educational, economic, social and cultural spheres across India and
particularly in Maharashtra.

During the first year of the programme, the students are
exposed to various functional areas of management. In the second year, they opt
for one of the functional specializations offered by he institute viz.,
Finance, HR, Marketing and Systems. This ensures that the students are well
acquainted with one management discipline while possessing a general
perspective of the other disciplines. After the completion of the first year,
the students are required to undertake industry projects for two months to
bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical learning.
The institute conducts an Executive MBA programme which is a
weekend, part time course in order to cater to the needs of industry and
working professional.
