Institution of
Management Development and Research (IMDR), Pune was established in 1974,
as a constituent unit of the Deccan Education Society. It is accrediated by All
India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Directorate of Technical
Education(DTE).The institution was also a recognised centre for research
leading to Ph D. It imparts education for enlightened practice of management
and sustained growth of work organizations. The participants in the educational
programmes at IMDR learn to examine and modify, if needed their own practice
and behavior for short term and long-term effectiveness.
The main aim of the institute is to create a learning
community that values productive and creative actions. The educational process
that would help the community realize these values is through inward and
outward openness. On IMDR campus, every member, staff or student has sufficient
freedom to pursue their own interests while meeting the common interests of
community. Free development of each individual is an essential condition for
the free development of all.

Course Design:
Our program prepares students to be down-to-earth
performers, who continuously learn from experience and develop into thoughtful
and sensitive professionals, so that they participate and influence organizational
processes in an enlightened manner. The
unique design of our program is based on the Instructional Systems Design
Methodology, which aims at integrating different disciplines to make Management
an enriching field of thoughtful practice.
It is not modeled on any other Indian or Foreign program.
We emphasize Self-study throughout the program. Hence, besides classroom learning, there are
assignments, case study sessions and field studies, in which students’ ACTIVE
participation is expected. We desire
strict adherence to the Minimum Attendance Norm, which is 80%, the remaining
20% being allowed for personal exigencies, sickness, etc.
