MAH CET Cutoffs for Top MBA Colleges

The scores of MAH CET will be accepted by over 400 B-schools in the state of Maharashtra. This article will give you the list of top B-schools accepting MAH CET scores and their cut off scores. MAH CET 2014 for MBA MMS Admission

Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MAH CET) 2014
Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra, has announced MAH MBA/MMS CET 2014 examination dates. MAH MBA/MMS CET 2014 is conducted for MBA/MMS courses admissions across the state.

According to the DTE notification, around 85% seats in state government and aided MBA / MMS institutes in the state, 65% seats at private unaided and minority institutes will be filled through the MAH MBA/MMS CET 2014.

Remaining 15% seats will be filled through all India quota.

According to the notification issued by the DTE, "Candidates seeking admissions to MBA/MMS courses for the year 2014-15, have to appear in MAH MBA/MMS CET 2014 examination." MAH MBA/MMS CET 2014 examination will be held from 15th to 16th March.

In 2012, admissions to the MBA institutes in the Maharashtra were carried out on the basis of Common Management Aptitude Test (CMAT) conducted by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

MAH CET 2014 Eligibility Criteria:
Passed with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA ( 45% in case of candidates of backward class categories and Persons With Disability belonging to Maharashtra State only) in any Bachelor’s degree awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 of minimum three years duration in any discipline recognised by the of Indian Universities, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. (Candidates appearing for final year of qualifying examination are also eligible to appear for CET)

MAH CET 2014 Exam Pattern:
The MAH CET 2014 Exam will be held in an online format. The duration is 150 minutes or 2.5 hours. There are 200 questions asked from 5 different areas including Quantitative Ability, Verbal Ability, Data Interpretation/Data Sufficiency and Reasoning.

MAT CET 2014 Application Form:
It is mandatory for all aspiring candidates to register & confirm the Online Application Form for MAH MBA/MMS CET 2014 at http://www.dtemaharashtra.gov.in/mba2014

Application form processing fees as stated below is to be paid at any Axis Bank Branches in cash through e-Challan as per schedule during the working hours of the respective Branches. The candidate can also do online payment of the fees by Internet Payment, Credit Card/ Debit Card payment gateway for which the service charges, as per rules, shall be applicable in addition to the application form Processing Fees. No other mode of payment shall be permitted.

Rs. 1000/- : For Open Category Candidates from Maharashtra State, Outside Maharashtra State (OMS), J & K Migrant candidates and NRI/Foreign National / PIO/Children of Indian Workers in the Gulf Countries Candidates.

I. Eligibility Criteria
Bachelor degree in any discipline. Candidates appearing for final year bachelor degree examinations can also apply, provided they complete all degree requirements by September 30, 2014.
All AICTE programme require a test score and 50% in graduation.

II. Selection Procedure
Selection procedure as per AICTE regulations. Candidates with any one of the scores of CAT / XAT / ATMA / JMET/ CMAT will be considered for selection. Any change in AICTE regulations regarding admission will be notified in the institute website.

There will be no difference in the course curriculum for this batch and they will receive the same inputs as applicable to the PGDM Programs except for the fact that they can expect lateral placements with higher compensation packages. Those having lesser number of industrial experiences also get different and upgraded placements depending upon their corporate experience though they may not be admitted to the Executive Batch, but to the other courses.
  • Relevant work experience means full time employment in any company and not in the family business. It also means working on full-time basis on the specialization departments in the company such as Sales, Marketing, Finance, HR, IT, Operations and so on. Only such candidates can expect differential compensations based on work experience. However the selection committee can look into all the other type of work experiences and consider award of marks.
  • Candidates appearing for any final year Degree examination up to June 2014 can also apply. However, if they fail to match the above qualitative requirement when the result is declared for the graduation examination, they will be relieved from the course compulsorily. Same will be the case with respect to those who fail in their degree examination, which means a candidate should qualify his/her graduation examination with a minimum of 50% marks latest by the academic year 2013-14. The mark sheets should be submitted to the Institute latest by 01 November 2014.

The Selection process is divided into two stages. 

Stage I:

Written Test Score (WT) 
The Institute, basis of the percentile provided by the student, will assign a score out of 100 using a statistical normalization process. In case, the student has given multiple test percentiles, the highest will be considered.
Students should note that percentile and percentage are not the same.

The Psychometric Test is a computer based test aimed at identifying your personality traits.

Past academic record (PAR)
The marks assigned for past academic record include marks for percentage obtained in Class 10, Class 12, Graduation and Post Graduation (if applicable). In case a student is appearing for Graduation or Post Graduation, the percentage column will be blank. Students must not enter an aggregate of previous years

Documents to be enclosed along with completed application for academic results are:
  • Attested copy of Mark sheet of Class 10, 12, Graduation, Post Graduation (whichever applicable)
  • Attested copy of Graduation and Post Graduation Certificate.
  • Applications not having the above documents will not be given marks for Past Academic Record. Maximum Marks in this section is 10. 
Work Experience (WE)

In Stage I, Marks assigned for work experience is on the basis of duration of work experience only. Only full-time work experience, after completing graduation will be considered. 

Documents to be enclosed along with completed application for persons with work experience are:
  • Experience letter or a combination of Appointment letter and latest salary slip for the current organization working
  • Experience letter or a combination of Appointment and Relieving letter for all previous jobs mentioned.
  • The maximum marks in this parameter is 10. In the absence of the above documents marks will not be given for the work experience claimed by the student.
ANY false claim / fake documents being submitted will be automatically disqualified from the Selection Process and no appeal will be entertained in this regard.

The total score of 220 in Stage I will then be used to shortlist students for Stage II of the Selection process. Therefore ALL applicants will not be called for Stage II. Students should note that being called for Stage II is dependant on 4 parameters as mentioned above and not only on the Written Test Score. Hence a specific percentile cut-off for being invited to Stage II does not apply.

Stage I of selection process will be the same for the students applied for PGDM / PGDM e-Business / PGDM Business Design / PGDM Retail Management / PGDM Healthcare / PGDM Rural Management.

All applicants going through Stage II will go through all the parameters mentioned above. The interview would also be used as a mechanism to judge such other design competencies as observation, empathy, creativity, spotting opportunities, visualization among other aspects. 

The Extracurricular activities and Essay Questions will be reviewed in the Personal Interviews; hence students are advised to respond to them appropriately. Your response to the questions in the Application Form will play a significant role in your interviews.

Personal Interview is aimed at evaluating the students from an overall perspective, and suitability and capability to pursue a management program. It is also aimed at judging the interest and aptitude of the students with reference to the programs indicated in the Preference section.

The final selection of the students is based on the overall performance on 450 marks.
