Symbiosis Institute
of Management Studies (SIMS), Pune was founded in the year 1993. The institute
is under ministry of HRD, Govt. of India conferred on Symbiosis, the status of
Deemed to be University.
The institute today comprises of 45 institutes imparting
training in diverse disciplines. It has over 45,000 students who hail from all
states of India and from 85 different countries.
The institute is a constituent of the prestigious Symbiosis
International Deemed University and is accredited by the National Assessment
and Accreditation Council (of the UGC) in November 2008.
The institute is an ISO 9001:2008 quality certified
management institute and a top-tier provider of business education across the
spectrum. SIMS is also an accredited "Centre for Corporate
Governance" of the 'National Foundation of Corporate Governance' (established
by Ministry of Corporate Affairs and CII).
The institute admission to full time MBA programs is
primarily for dependents of Armed Force personnel and those sponsored by the
industry. SIMS is a constituent of the prestigious Symbiosis International
University.
